Trochaic Tetrameter

On musing bench in country garden

Rests our writer, Merry Ted Bear.

In the pleasant Summer morning

Merry Ted Bear sat and waited

As the breeze so full of freshness

Whispered through the trees and branches

While the sunshine warmed his body

While he pondered poem meter

Realising that trochaic

Was the reason for the epic

Never-ending “Hiawatha”.

Once a pen starts in this rhythm

It can’t stop, it keeps on going.

That explains why poem author’s

Name

Is

Longfellow.
